Barnabas Missions

Barnabas Mission Worldwide is dedicated to going where you are. We understand the value of a visit as articulated by Apostle Paul during a particular difficult time; “But God, who encourages those who are discouraged, encouraged us by the arrival of Titus.” 2 Corinthians 7:6 NLT All we need is an invite and we will come. Our purpose is to come alongside, encourage, and pray. Barnabas Mission has no other agenda. We can and will come alongside in the following ways.

There will be no financial obligation to those we visit on the front lines. We are trusting God for provision. Also, since we are not a funding organization, we make no financial commitments to any organization.

With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,

Getting to know, Jim

Jim Reimer, founder of Barnabas Mission Worldwide, has served as a pastor, church planter, short-term missionary and National Elder with the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies. Recently widowed and retired from local church ministry, Jim is dedicating this season of his life to coming alongside pastors, missionaries and ministry leaders serving on the front lines around the world.

Jim has planted three churches and brings extensive experience as a respected entrepreneur, community advocate and international ministry leader. He has raised funds for people in need, led pastors’ conferences, preached internationally and participated in humanitarian initiatives throughout Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central America, the United States and Haiti.

Jim is the founding pastor of Kootenay Christian Fellowship in Nelson, British Columbia. Born through street ministry in 1992, the church grew from humble beginnings into a vibrant congregation with a strong community presence. Under Jim’s leadership, KCF established Our Daily Bread, which serves meals to as many as 100 people each weekday, and S.H.A.R.E. Nelson, a 7,000-square-foot recycling and retail ministry that provides employment training, affordable household goods and support for community initiatives.

Jim also led the development of Herridge Place, a five-storey, 39-unit workforce rental-housing project completed in 2022 on land donated by Kootenay Christian Fellowship.

His community service has included participation on the Chief of Police Diversity Advisory Committee, Nelson Committee on Homelessness, Nelson Fentanyl Task Force and Nelson City Council Housing Committee. He has also served as president of Nelson Daybreak Rotary Club.

Jim believes the Kingdom of God should bring hope, compassion and positive transformation to every part of society. Through Barnabas Mission Worldwide, he continues that calling by encouraging, strengthening and supporting those who serve.
